An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnold Castermans in the 3rd minute of play forced Gierle's goalkeeper Robbin Koten to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. RSC Wolkrange's Yoachim Van den Paenhuysen managed to work through Gierle's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Yoachim Van den Paenhuysen dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. RSC Wolkrange's Xander De Weerdt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save RSC Wolkrange from getting a goal against them. After 14 played minutes Gierle got a freekick which was hit by Lieven Berrewouts. If Yoachim Van den Paenhuysen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matthieu Van Baerlem's late challenge caught a Gierle's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matthieu Van Baerlem helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to RSC Wolkrange getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Gierle's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rudi Reyniers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mario Laremans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Xander De Weerdt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rudi Reyniers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robbin Koten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnold Castermans in the 41st minute of the match. Mario Laremans sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Rudi Reyniers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a defensive mix-up in RSC Wolkrange's zone, Rudi Reyniers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Xander De Weerdt came out of the goal and Rudi Reyniers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Xander De Weerdt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Laremans in the 56th minute of the match. In the 57th match minute, RSC Wolkrange was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Michael Geeraerts to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Gierle's Rudi Reyniers got a free kick in the 59th minute. Xander De Weerdt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudi Reyniers, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. After having played for 62 minutes, Rudi Reyniers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dominic den Ronden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xander De Weerdt having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, Gierle's Rudi Reyniers sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Xander De Weerdt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mario Laremans in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xander De Weerdt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Xander De Weerdt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rudi Reyniers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 85th minute, Xander-Paul De Meulder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gierle's Rudi Reyniers got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to RSC Wolkrange getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Wilfried Marchal hit a great ball. Xander De Weerdt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mario Laremans in the 89th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the match, RSC Wolkrange's goal looked a bit too open when Rudi Reyniers came free, but Xander De Weerdt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Gierle fully deserved thier win.
