Michael Slaghmeulders did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Cederik Clijsters 14 minutes into the match. Cederik Clijsters showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jan Vischkens, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Michael Slaghmeulders received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Cederik Clijsters tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peter-Jan Lambrechts didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Louis-Philippe Vanden Berghe went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Jan Vischkens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cederik Clijsters having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michael Slaghmeulders in the 35th minute of play forced Bovenwezet's goalkeeper Cederik Clijsters to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Karl Van Dock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th minute, Philippe Geubelsville's Michael Slaghmeulders dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gilliam De Marrez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Michael Slaghmeulders got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sebastien Cerneels scored 3-1 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Cederik Clijsters, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 69 played minutes Philippe Geubelsville got a freekick which was hit by Tommie Smolders. In the 70th minute, Gwenn Verbeke sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Philippe Geubelsville's Peter-Jan Lambrechts didn't even have to move. If Michael Slaghmeulders had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the match, Philippe Geubelsville's goal looked a bit too open when Louis-Philippe Vanden Berghe came free, but Peter-Jan Lambrechts reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leopold Bernage's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Cederik Clijsters read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. After 79 played minutes Bovenwezet got a freekick which was hit by Jeffrey Van Meerbek. After 84 minutes of play, Philippe Geubelsville's Michael Slaghmeulders made it 4-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cederik Clijsters was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bovenwezet's Cederik Clijsters played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastien Cerneels in the 87th minute of play. Louis-Philippe Vanden Berghe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Sebastien Cerneels's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cederik Clijsters was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Philippe Geubelsville fully deserved thier win.
