Stef Verhaegen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Frederic De Vlaeminck tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pierre-Olivier Ingelbert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Frederic De Vlaeminck read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. Frederic De Vlaeminck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stef Verhaegen in the 6th minute of play. When Stef Verhaegen came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Annekenshoek fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stef Verhaegen couldn't finish the play. In the 12th minute, Pierre-Olivier Ingelbert got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 14 minutes, Stef Verhaegen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Annekenshoek's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stef Verhaegen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stef Verhaegen struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Frederic De Vlaeminck didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Annekenshoek. Corneel Ramps charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Corneel Ramps the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Annekenshoek booed when KFC Eendracht Zelem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corneel Ramps didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 22 played minutes KFC Eendracht Zelem got a freekick which was hit by Alphonse Sutens. Frederic De Vlaeminck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stef Verhaegen, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 29th minute, Pierre-Olivier Ingelbert made a precise shot to the right of Frederic De Vlaeminck. KFC Eendracht Zelem's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. In the 36th minute, Annekenshoek's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Tommy de Reyck fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a rather tough play, Annekenshoek's Dirk Klaes got a free kick in the 37th minute. If Tommy Maerschalckx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pierre-Olivier Ingelbert struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Frederic De Vlaeminck didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Annekenshoek.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stef Verhaegen to strike the kick off in the second half. Corneel Ramps hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. After 57 played minutes, Annekenshoek's Thibau Beeckmans shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Frederic De Vlaeminck came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Annekenshoek reached it. Tommy Maerschalckx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Van Goethem having to interfere. Tijs Moreau kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Pierre-Olivier Ingelbert could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Frederic De Vlaeminck made a huge save. In the 69th match minute, KFC Eendracht Zelem was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alphonse Sutens to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Van Goethem showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Maerschalckx in the 81st minute of the match. 84 minutes into the match, Annekenshoek's goal looked a bit too open when Tommy Maerschalckx came free, but Tomas Van Goethem reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 85 minutes of play, KFC Eendracht Zelem's Tommy de Reyck made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tomas Van Goethem was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Annekenshoek booed when KFC Eendracht Zelem was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Corneel Ramps didn't get a good kick on the ball. Annekenshoek were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after KFC Eendracht Zelem's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Thibau Beeckmans took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Willem Wolfs managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tommy de Reyck in the 99th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomas Van Goethem saved Annekenshoek from getting behind. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
