In the 9th minute, Mario De Roost got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 15 minutes into the game, Kenneth Smekens was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Ravens's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave KSV Kanegem the free kick. After 14 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Ravens! When the match clock showed 20 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Mario De Roost sped through KSV Kanegem's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Benjamin Struelens. After 23 minutes, Gertjan Wynant mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Ravens and the KSV Kanegem players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of KSV Kanegem booed when FC Ravens was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gertjan Wynant didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mario De Roost in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benjamin Struelens saved KSV Kanegem from getting behind. Boris Vlimmens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eddy Boumans having to interfere. KSV Kanegem's Benjamin Struelens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mario De Roost in the 30th minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, KSV Kanegem's goal looked a bit too open when Décio Maranhense came free, but Benjamin Struelens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Décio Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 36 minutes into the game, Mario De Roost cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Benjamin Struelens was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Décio Maranhense in the 40th minute of play forced KSV Kanegem's goalkeeper Benjamin Struelens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the game, FC Ravens's Mario De Roost nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benjamin Struelens made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-5. If Godfried De Meesemaeckere had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Benjamin Struelens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kenneth Smekens, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. A hard shot 54 in the game by Décio Maranhense from a close distance when the talented Benjamin Struelens managed to make a qualified save. KSV Kanegem's players were relieved. Décio Maranhense who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Benjamin Struelens when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Diederick Coussement charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diederick Coussement the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, KSV Kanegem's Diederick Coussement got a free kick in the 56th minute. Joos Goethuys was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 56th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Benjamin Struelens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mario De Roost, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thommy Van de Wal kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. FC Ravens's Joos Goethuys shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 63rd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Benjamin Struelens but with some difficulty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mario De Roost in the 65th minute of play forced KSV Kanegem's goalkeeper Benjamin Struelens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Joos Goethuys ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benjamin Struelens was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. Décio Maranhense succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-7 in the 70th playminute. 73 minutes into the match, KSV Kanegem's goal looked a bit too open when Décio Maranhense came free, but Benjamin Struelens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute, Décio Maranhense reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Benjamin Struelens. The goal made the score 1-8. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mario De Roost in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benjamin Struelens saved KSV Kanegem from getting behind. In the 80th minute, FC Ravens's Mario De Roost ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Benjamin Struelens. Benjamin Struelens yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-9. If Décio Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Charl Wirinckx charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Charl Wirinckx the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to KSV Kanegem getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Charl Wirinckx hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute, Décio Maranhense got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Décio Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Benjamin Struelens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Ravens played a much better game than KSV Kanegem and deserved their victory. The KSV Kanegem players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
