KFC Kerksken-Haaltert's Thys Swiggers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roy Widdepenninck in the 8th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Maaseik's Dirk Lambrechts got a free kick in the 8th minute. Thys Swiggers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Van Laeck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thys Swiggers stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Martin Van Laeck's shot from short distance in the 14th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Dean Steckens notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of KFC Kerksken-Haaltert's Thys Swiggers. Thys Swiggers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ivan Huijbregs made in the 20th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Roy Widdepenninck immediately put the ball in play. 22 minutes into the match, KFC Kerksken-Haaltert's goal looked a bit too open when Dean Steckens came free, but Thys Swiggers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thys Swiggers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Van Laeck in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Van Laeck in the 25th minute of play forced KFC Kerksken-Haaltert's goalkeeper Thys Swiggers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. KFC Kerksken-Haaltert's Thys Swiggers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Martin Van Laeck in the 27th minute of play. Bernt Hosselaer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thys Swiggers having to interfere. After some careless play in the KFC Kerksken-Haaltert defense, Martin Van Laeck kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Thys Swiggers. The KFC Kerksken-Haaltert fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Thys Swiggers should have stopped the shot. Thys Swiggers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Van Laeck in the 38th minute of the match. 39 minutes into the game, Franck Coenen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. KFC Kerksken-Haaltert's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maaseik the free kick. Mateo Buyck didn't quite understand what happened when in the 41 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. 44 minutes into the game, Martin Van Laeck cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Thys Swiggers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thys Swiggers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dean Steckens, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Henri-Xavier Celis to make the kick off. Henri-Xavier Celis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomm Gallot having to interfere. 56 minutes into the match, KFC Kerksken-Haaltert's goalkeeper Thys Swiggers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Martin Van Laeck. 58 minutes into the match, KFC Kerksken-Haaltert's goalkeeper Thys Swiggers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dean Steckens. Thys Swiggers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adam Mertens in the 71st minute. In the 73rd minute, Martin Van Laeck fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Thys Swiggers, passed just outside the right post. A collision led to KFC Kerksken-Haaltert getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Samuel Villyn hit a great ball. After 75 minutes of play, Maaseik's Roy Widdepenninck made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Thys Swiggers was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 82 minutes, Henri-Xavier Celis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KFC Kerksken-Haaltert and the Maaseik players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Maaseik booed when KFC Kerksken-Haaltert was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Henri-Xavier Celis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dean Steckens could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Thys Swiggers made a huge save. During the 89th minute of the match Franck Coenen completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Franck Coenen a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Maaseik's Remy Celis got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leon Brabant in the 94thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Thys Swiggers, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The KFC Kerksken-Haaltert fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Maaseik were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
