Spectators: 7563 (Terracing: 5673, Seating: 1739, VIP seats: 151) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hugo Billen started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Ritchie Van Leemputten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gill Castermans during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 12 played minutes The Mean Petes got a freekick which was hit by Brend Wiggers. Pieter-Maarten Lissens, 13 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hugo Billen in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Douglas De Roost prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in The Mean Petes's zone, Hugo Billen stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Douglas De Roost came out of the goal and Hugo Billen tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. KVS branst's Mathias Van Achtens got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 21 minutes into the match, The Mean Petes's goal looked a bit too open when Mathias Van Achtens came free, but Douglas De Roost reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 22 played minutes KVS branst got a freekick which was hit by Jacobus Rondas. When Mathijs Van Bouschot fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KVS branst's protests and gave Mathijs Van Bouschot a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of The Mean Petes booed when KVS branst was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathijs Van Bouschot didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the The Mean Petes defense, Hugo Billen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Douglas De Roost. The The Mean Petes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Douglas De Roost should have stopped the shot. Mathias Van Achtens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas De Roost having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

If Hugo Billen had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to KVS branst getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Mathijs Van Bouschot hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Ritchie Van Leemputten managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Mean Petes's supporters rose to their feet, but Ritchie Van Leemputten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ignace De Wortelaer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mathias Van Achtens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Douglas De Roost having to interfere. With a little luck, The Mean Petes's Douglas De Roost got control of the ball when Mathias Van Achtens tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ignace De Wortelaer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gill Castermans in the 67th minute of play. Gill Castermans got his second yellow card in the match during the 74th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. The supporters of KVS branst booed when The Mean Petes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gill Castermans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brend Wiggers charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Brend Wiggers the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Pieter-Maarten Lissens took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 79th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Douglas De Roost. The Mean Petes's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Mathias Van Achtens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hugo Billen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Douglas De Roost tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, The Mean Petes's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Billen came free, but Douglas De Roost reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over KVS branst could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than The Mean Petes throughout the match.
