The FC CONGO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sebastien Steckens should have stopped the shot. Louis De Baere blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vince Verhelst having to make a save. Vince Verhelst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ief De Vos, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Dennis Pelsmaeckers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vince Verhelst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Louis De Baere in the 31st minute of the match. Sebastien Steckens made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dennis Pelsmaeckers in the 37th minute. When Yanniek Louis fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC CONGO's protests and gave Yanniek Louis a yellow card for diving instead. In the 38th minute, Yanniek Louis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dennis Pelsmaeckers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Sebastien Steckens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jorne Dekeyser during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 45th minute, Jorne Dekeyser hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Louis De Baere stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, VC La Reid's Giles Meulders got a free kick in the 53rd minute. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 55th minute of the game. One of VC La Reid:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC CONGO:s goal. Herbert Jonckers might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sebastien Steckens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Herbert Jonckers ran back to his position shaking his head. Dennis Pelsmaeckers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastien Steckens having to interfere. Herbert Jonckers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Sebastien Steckens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Dennis Pelsmaeckers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mathieux Van Daelen lost his temper 87 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 86th minute of the game. One of FC CONGO:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of VC La Reid:s goal. When Ief De Vos came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the FC CONGO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ief De Vos couldn't finish the play. VC La Reid's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
