Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5664, Seating: 1736, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Jarno Vleminx started the match with the kick off. Ludo Van de Plas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nicolaas Verelst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vince Van Geel, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Benfica Lisboà's Felix Teunens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ludo Van de Plas in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th minute Jarno Vleminx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nicolaas Verelst saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FC Fatmax's Gert Van hoegaerde was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 20th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. After 24 played minutes FC Fatmax got a freekick which was hit by Fredrik Schoolmeesters. Nicolaas Verelst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henri-Xavier Belmans in the 26th minute of the match. If Vince Van Geel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Fatmax's goalkeeper Nicolaas Verelst, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Benfica Lisboà getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Victor Winnepenninck hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Gert Van hoegaerde managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Fatmax's supporters rose to their feet, but Gert Van hoegaerde was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Felix Teunens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ludo Van de Plas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Felix Teunens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jarno Vleminx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in FC Fatmax's zone, Vince Van Geel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicolaas Verelst came out of the goal and Vince Van Geel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ludo Van de Plas made a kick off. When Vince Van Geel came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Benfica Lisboà fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vince Van Geel couldn't finish the play. Nicolaas Verelst didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 62nd minute, which inside left pole to 1-1. If Jarno Vleminx had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gert Van hoegaerde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Teunens having to interfere. Nicolaas Verelst made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Jarno Vleminx sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in FC Fatmax's zone, Vince Van Geel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicolaas Verelst came out of the goal and Vince Van Geel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 89th minute, Jarno Vleminx got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Vince Van Geel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Nicolaas Verelst tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nicolaas Verelst made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Vince Van Geel sent off a good shot on target. Benfica Lisboà's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
