Spectators: 7476 (Terracing: 5645, Seating: 1731, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Samuel Kempenaerts started the match with the kick off. In the 3rd minute, Toon Coosemans got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Ludo Van de Plas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dolf Ivens was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Ludo Van de Plas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ludo Van de Plas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dolf Ivens read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. In the 20th minute, FC Nieuwpoort's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gert Van hoegaerde fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. FC Nieuwpoort's Dolf Ivens proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save FC Nieuwpoort from getting a goal against them. If Gert Van hoegaerde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gert Van hoegaerde hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Dolf Ivens made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gert Van hoegaerde in the 34th minute. When Ludo Van de Plas came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the FC Fatmax fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ludo Van de Plas couldn't finish the play. Ludo Van de Plas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dolf Ivens having to interfere.

In the 56th minute Ludo Van de Plas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dolf Ivens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dolf Ivens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ludo Van de Plas in the 59th minute of play. Gert Van hoegaerde took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dolf Ivens. Dolf Ivens dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When Jean Roelants fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Fatmax's protests and gave Jean Roelants a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in FC Fatmax fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 68th minute. Penalty! FC Fatmax:s Nicolaas Verelst showed great skill when he stopped Billy Quvelirs:s penalty. Nicolaas Verelst showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Kempenaerts, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 82nd minute, Samuel Kempenaerts got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 87 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC Fatmax's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Billy Quvelirs was slow to take the kick. During this time FC Nieuwpoort's players had a chance to rest. In the 98th minute, Joey Van Gestelt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nicolaas Verelst made an important save on a dangerous shot by Toon Coosemans in the 99th minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
