Spectators: 6995 (Terracing: 5250, Seating: 1745, VIP seats: 0) Tommas Van der Weijden made the kick off and thus started the match. After 5 played minutes Beveren got a freekick which was hit by Geoffry Iwens. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Geoffrey Dhondt in the 8th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dany De Poorter prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Sander De Roeck came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Beveren fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sander De Roeck couldn't finish the play. If Tommas Van der Weijden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Dany De Poorter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fred De Middeleer in the 30th minute of play. Geoffrey Dhondt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Dany De Poorter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Geoffrey Dhondt came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the FC Golden Storm fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geoffrey Dhondt couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Beveren's zone, Fred De Middeleer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dany De Poorter came out of the goal and Fred De Middeleer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dany De Poorter made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fred De Middeleer in the 37th minute of play. If Fred De Middeleer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Geoffrey Dhondt made a kick off. In the 51st minute Tommas Van der Weijden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremie Verheijd saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeremie Verheijd took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sander De Roeck, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the match, Beveren's goal looked a bit too open when Geoffrey Dhondt came free, but Dany De Poorter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 70 minutes, Geoffrey Dhondt put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Dany De Poorter. When Fred De Middeleer came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the FC Golden Storm fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fred De Middeleer couldn't finish the play. In the 75th minute, Geoffrey Dhondt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sander De Roeck in the 78th minute of play forced FC Golden Storm's goalkeeper Jeremie Verheijd to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 81st minute, FC Golden Storm's Fred De Middeleer dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. When the match was over FC Golden Storm could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Beveren throughout the match.
