Spectators: 7568 (Terracing: 5677, Seating: 1740, VIP seats: 151) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Tommas Van der Weijden kicked off to start the match. Joerie Bauweleers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Dany De Poorter tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 7 minutes, Joerie Bauweleers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moorsele's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joerie Bauweleers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 12 minutes into the match, Beveren's goal looked a bit too open when Hans de Pelsmaeker came free, but Dany De Poorter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dany De Poorter made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Joerie Bauweleers sent off a good shot on target. Erik-Jan Van Meel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sander De Roeck's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Tommas Van der Weijden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Erik-Jan Van Meel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tommas Van der Weijden fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Erik-Jan Van Meel having to interfere. Tommas Van der Weijden recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jo Hoeybroeck's late challenge caught a Beveren's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jo Hoeybroeck helped the player get up and apologised. Moorsele:s Erik-Jan Van Meel showed great skill when he stopped Geoffry Iwens:s penalty. Geoffry Iwens took the ball and in the 30 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Erik-Jan Van Meel. Erik-Jan Van Meel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 33 minutes into the game, Beveren's Boudewijn de Pelsmacker nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Erik-Jan Van Meel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After having played for 39 minutes, Hans de Pelsmaeker managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moorsele's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hans de Pelsmaeker was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Moorsele's zone, Tommas Van der Weijden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erik-Jan Van Meel came out of the goal and Tommas Van der Weijden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hans de Pelsmaeker to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Tommas Van der Weijden managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beveren's supporters rose to their feet, but Tommas Van der Weijden was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erik-Jan Van Meel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 56th minute of the match Jaspar Verheije shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erik-Jan Van Meel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Tommas Van der Weijden managed to get in a good position for a shot. Beveren's supporters rose to their feet, but Tommas Van der Weijden was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erik-Jan Van Meel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Joerie Bauweleers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 62 minutes into the match, Beveren's goal looked a bit too open when Joerie Bauweleers came free, but Dany De Poorter reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Tommas Van der Weijden came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Beveren fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tommas Van der Weijden couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Beveren's Tommas Van der Weijden slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Erik-Jan Van Meel. That made the score 0-4 after 65 minutes of play. Tommas Van der Weijden did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-5 to the left of a surprised Erik-Jan Van Meel 69 minutes into the match. Wilfried Van de Put hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Dany De Poorter stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Joerie Bauweleers's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Hans de Pelsmaeker scored 1-5 in the 86th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dany De Poorter, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Beveren played a much better game than Moorsele and deserved their victory. The Moorsele players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
