The Beveren fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Davy Demarrez charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Davy Demarrez the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th match minute, Beveren was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davy Demarrez to maneuver through the defense. In the 16th minute, Boudewijn de Pelsmacker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tommas Van der Weijden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emmanuel Huijghens made a kick off. Sander De Roeck who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Axel Dirckx when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 57th minute Tommas Van der Weijden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Axel Dirckx saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sander De Roeck scored 0-4 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Axel Dirckx, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Beveren's zone, Staf Snijers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dany De Poorter came out of the goal and Staf Snijers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dany De Poorter took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emmanuel Huijghens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. KFC Attert's Axel Dirckx proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save KFC Attert from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, KFC Attert's Yannik Godts got a free kick in the 75th minute. Tommas Van der Weijden struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Axel Dirckx didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Beveren. A collision led to Beveren getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. When Boudewijn de Pelsmacker was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 82 minutes had been played. Emmanuel Huijghens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Staf Snijers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dany De Poorter having to interfere. 97 minutes into the match, KFC Attert's goalkeeper Axel Dirckx had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sander De Roeck. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Beveren walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
