An unexpected shot in the 16th minute by Emile De Kijser got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 19 minutes into the game, Emile De Kijser lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Laurent Lanckneus. Bernd Joostens's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bass Peeters read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Waud Lambert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jesse Uijterhoven charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Sint-Laureins's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sint-Laureins's zone, Bernd Joostens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bass Peeters came out of the goal and Bernd Joostens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bernd Joostens in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bass Peeters prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 45th minute Emile De Kijser shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laurent Lanckneus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Jammy Van Achter came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Sint-Laureins fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jammy Van Achter couldn't finish the play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bernd Joostens to make the kick off. Waud Lambert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Emile De Kijser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Laurent Lanckneus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jammy Van Achter in the 56th minute of the match. Emile De Kijser received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Laurent Lanckneus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th minute, Sint-Laureins's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bernd Joostens fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Jammy Van Achter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laurent Lanckneus having to interfere. If Bruno Van Clijnenbreugel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sint-Laureins's Bass Peeters played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernd Joostens in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th match minute, Sint-Laureins was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jesse Uijterhoven to maneuver through the defense. When Bernd Joostens came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Halvedreet fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernd Joostens couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Halvedreet getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Jannick De Rijck hit a great ball. Halvedreet's Laurent Lanckneus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emile De Kijser in the 90th minute of play. 93 minutes into the game, Emile De Kijser cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Laurent Lanckneus was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sint-Laureins had won after a very even match.
