Spectators: 6785 (Terracing: 5050, Seating: 1732, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Christiaan Roelandts started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the game, KAA Bautersem's Edgard Justus nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Staf Van Hoght made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Christiaan Roelandts managed to get in a good position for a shot. KFC Maagdeveld's supporters rose to their feet, but Christiaan Roelandts was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ernest van Haghten breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 9thth minute of the game Edgard Justus who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but KFC Maagdeveld's Staf Van Hoght was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Edgard Justus came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the KAA Bautersem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgard Justus couldn't finish the play. Werner Denijs struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Staf Van Hoght didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KAA Bautersem. Edgard Justus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 20 minutes into the match, Edgard Justus notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of KFC Maagdeveld's Staf Van Hoght. Staf Van Hoght was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Staf Van Hoght came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by KAA Bautersem's Werner Denijs. But to his dismay, Werner Denijs quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Edgard Justus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Staf Van Hoght having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Edgard Justus's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Staf Van Hoght was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Thomas Van Hinnendaels kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Janes Lambrechs hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, KFC Maagdeveld's Tibau Denys tried to score from far away in the 34th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Thomas Van Hinnendaels hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Staf Van Hoght made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Justus in the 39th minute of play. After 40 minutes, Dimitri Tael mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the KFC Maagdeveld and the KAA Bautersem players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 40 played minutes KFC Maagdeveld got a freekick which was hit by Dimitri Tael. After having played for 41 minutes, Werner Denijs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KAA Bautersem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Werner Denijs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Staf Van Hoght took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Justus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Justus in the 45th minute of play forced KFC Maagdeveld's goalkeeper Staf Van Hoght to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fredrik Blommaert was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 48th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Edgard Justus to make the kick off. When KAA Bautersem's Edgard Justus in the 53rd minute got a chance for a shot 53rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye KFC Maagdeveld's goalie prevented a goal. Staf Van Hoght was a little too slow when Janes Lambrechs got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 62nd minute. The score was now 1-4. In the 66th minute the ball was on its way in behind KFC Maagdeveld's goalkeeper Staf Van Hoght, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 69th play minute Werner Denijs came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Staf Van Hoght. 1-5. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vicente De Witte during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 75th minute there was a penalty for KAA Bautersem. Fredrik Blommaert stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Staf Van Hoght. 1-6. In the 81st minute, Andrew Wilmots hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in KFC Maagdeveld's zone, Edgard Justus stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Staf Van Hoght came out of the goal and Edgard Justus tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 93 played minutes Edgard Justus rounded KFC Maagdeveld's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-7. KAA Bautersem played a much better game than KFC Maagdeveld and deserved their victory. The KFC Maagdeveld players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
