Brecht Dechamps's late challenge caught a KV Breendonk Duvel's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brecht Dechamps helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, RC Mechelen's Brecht Dechamps got a free kick in the 7th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Arnold Bormans kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zsolt Rózsa. That made the score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. In the 25th minute, Sandro Canal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. RC Mechelen's Dany-Adams Van den Haute played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atilla Bumin Sümeroğlu in the 29th minute of play. Arnold Bormans fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zsolt Rózsa having to interfere. Zsolt Rózsa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arnold Bormans, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Arnold Bormans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcus Du Bois got free with Zsolt Rózsa in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. KV Breendonk Duvel's Zsolt Rózsa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnold Bormans in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnold Bormans in the 46th minute of play forced KV Breendonk Duvel's goalkeeper Zsolt Rózsa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Marcus Du Bois sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 67th minute Atilla Bumin Sümeroğlu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dany-Adams Van den Haute saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zsolt Rózsa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnold Bormans in the 71st minute of play. After 72 played minutes RC Mechelen got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Du Bois. In the 73rd minute, Berten De Clerk fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Zsolt Rózsa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marcus Du Bois in the 76th minute of the match. If Atilla Bumin Sümeroğlu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank De Raemaekers made in the 83rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Arnaud Van Kamp however managed to control. RC Mechelen's Dany-Adams Van den Haute played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Atilla Bumin Sümeroğlu in the 94th minute of play. If Marcus Du Bois had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
