Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Tim-Jan Wirinckx started the match with the kick off. When Tran Naets came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the KAA Werbeek fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tran Naets couldn't finish the play. Johny Van Hove hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Gert-Jan Van Deyck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tran Naets in the 9th minute of play forced KV Chiro's goalkeeper Stefaan Van den Driesch to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jan-Pieter Tijs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Joannes Vrolijcx tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jan-Pieter Tijs in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joannes Vrolijcx saved KAA Werbeek from getting behind. Stefaan Van den Driesch took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tran Naets, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gert-Jan Van Deyck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefaan Van den Driesch having to interfere. Gert-Jan Van Deyck could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Stefaan Van den Driesch made a huge save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tran Naets stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tim-Jan Wirinckx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joannes Vrolijcx having to interfere. Charlie Thielemans charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Charlie Thielemans the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, KAA Werbeek's Charlie Thielemans got a free kick in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the game, Tran Naets cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Stefaan Van den Driesch was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jan-Pieter Tijs struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Joannes Vrolijcx didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KV Chiro. Gert-Jan Van Deyck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Stefaan Van den Driesch tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Gert-Jan Van Deyck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Wesly Van Espen fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KV Chiro's protests and gave Wesly Van Espen a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 72nd minute of the game. One of KV Chiro:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of KAA Werbeek:s goal. In the 73rd minute there was a penalty for KAA Werbeek. Octaaf Skouten stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Stefaan Van den Driesch. 2-0. In the 77th minute Gert-Jan Van Deyck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefaan Van den Driesch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tran Naets's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Stefaan Van den Driesch read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 81st minute of play. Arsene Elsens hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. In the 82nd minute Gert-Jan Van Deyck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stefaan Van den Driesch saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. KAA Werbeek's Tran Naets got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jan-Pieter Tijs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Joannes Vrolijcx tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stefaan Van den Driesch made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gert-Jan Van Deyck in the 90th minute of play. After having played for 96 minutes, Gert-Jan Van Deyck managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KAA Werbeek's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gert-Jan Van Deyck was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee ended the match the KAA Werbeek players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
