RSC Anderlecht's Matteo Elens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Jongbloedt in the 5th minute of play. Joos Bauweleers might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Matteo Elens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joos Bauweleers ran back to his position shaking his head. Matteo Elens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oscar Jongbloedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Oscar Jongbloedt was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 14th minute. FC Trembleur's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. A collision led to RSC Anderlecht getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Freddy Jannes hit a great ball. In the 18th minute Anthony Van Gorpt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jerry De Kerpel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Oscar Jongbloedt kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Matteo Elens made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Joos Bauweleers sent off a good shot on target. 32 minutes into the game, Renzo Lenaerts was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RSC Anderlecht's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Trembleur the free kick. In the 32nd match minute, RSC Anderlecht was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Renzo Lenaerts to maneuver through the defense. After 42 minutes of play, FC Trembleur's Joos Bauweleers made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Matteo Elens was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in RSC Anderlecht's zone, Joos Bauweleers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matteo Elens came out of the goal and Joos Bauweleers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oscar Jongbloedt to make the kick off. Matteo Elens stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oscar Jongbloedt's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Joos Bauweleers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Matteo Elens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 56 minutes into the match, FC Trembleur's goal looked a bit too open when Anthony Van Gorpt came free, but Jerry De Kerpel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jerry De Kerpel was out of position in the 59 minute of play, and Anthony Van Gorpt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Anthony Van Gorpt really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Oscar Jongbloedt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matteo Elens having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Pierre-Paul Baeten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 66 minutes of play RSC Anderlecht's Renzo Lenaerts was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 67 played minutes RSC Anderlecht got a freekick which was hit by Renzo Lenaerts. Ignace Van de Velde, 68 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 69th minute Oscar Jongbloedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matteo Elens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
