Norbert Sustens charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Norbert Sustens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 3rd match minute, FC Meirliators was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Norbert Sustens to maneuver through the defense. Carel van Eijnde made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tijs Timmermans in the 7th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, FC Meirliators's Gert De Bruijn sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gwenn Herinckx narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stephen Wortelers during the 13th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alfred De Raeijmaeker spun around in front of the goal 14 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Quaregnon's goal. After some careless play in the FC Meirliators defense, Tijs Timmermans kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carel van Eijnde. The FC Meirliators fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carel van Eijnde should have stopped the shot. When FC Meirliators's Gert De Bruijn in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Quaregnon reached it. In the 38th minute, Alfred De Raeijmaeker left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Meirliators fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Stephen Wortelers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee gave Quaregnon a penalty, 45 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Adolf Pelgrims, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Meirliators's Carel van Eijnde. 1-2. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tijs Timmermans was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Geert Huveneers notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of FC Meirliators's Carel van Eijnde. Carel van Eijnde was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tijs Timmermans in the 58th minute of play forced FC Meirliators's goalkeeper Carel van Eijnde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Norbert Sustens recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Niels De Keijser charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Niels De Keijser the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Niels De Keijser kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. In the 75th minute, Geert Huveneers ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carel van Eijnde was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. After a defensive mix-up in FC Meirliators's zone, Tijs Timmermans stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Carel van Eijnde came out of the goal and Tijs Timmermans tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Quaregnon's Gwenn Herinckx played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfred De Raeijmaeker in the 85th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Quaregnon's goal looked a bit too open when Gert De Bruijn came free, but Gwenn Herinckx reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The FC Meirliators supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Quaregnon's performance. The match ended with a win for Quaregnon.
