Gabriel Salms took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 13th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Carel van Eijnde. FC Meirliators's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Herald Morreels showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gert De Bruijn, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 21st match minute, FC Meirliators was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Constantijn Van Aerschodt to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Herald Wuijts in the 23rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carel van Eijnde prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gert De Bruijn during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gert De Bruijn hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Gilian Van de Schrieck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Carel van Eijnde tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34thth minute of the game Herald Wuijts who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Meirliators's Carel van Eijnde was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 36th minute, Jorge Pelegrims left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KSV Chastres fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Carel van Eijnde stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Herald Wuijts's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. After 41 minutes, Daniel Lenaerts mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Meirliators and the KSV Chastres players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 43rd match minute, FC Meirliators was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Lenaerts to maneuver through the defense. Carel van Eijnde showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herald Wuijts in the 44th minute of the match. After some careless play in the FC Meirliators defense, Herald Wuijts kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Carel van Eijnde. The FC Meirliators fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carel van Eijnde should have stopped the shot. Gabriel Salms was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 60th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. When Kobe Quintens fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KSV Chastres's protests and gave Kobe Quintens a yellow card for diving instead. After 66 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for KSV Chastres! The referee gave FC Meirliators a penalty, 68 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dave Kockaerts, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of KSV Chastres's Herald Morreels. 1-2. Herald Wuijts could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Carel van Eijnde made a huge save. After a rather tough play, FC Meirliators's Daniel Lenaerts got a free kick in the 81st minute. Herald Wuijts fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carel van Eijnde having to interfere. If Herald Wuijts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience was convinced that Gilian Van de Schrieck's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Carel van Eijnde was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Meirliators's goalkeeper Carel van Eijnde, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a rather tough play, FC Meirliators's Daniel Lenaerts got a free kick in the 94th minute. KSV Chastres's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
