After having played for 7 minutes, Natan Raeijmaeckers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Gerbalona's supporters crossed their fingers, but Natan Raeijmaeckers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Albertus Rutgeerts showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natan Raeijmaeckers in the 10th minute of the match. Albertus Rutgeerts made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natan Raeijmaeckers in the 12th minute of play. In the 14th minute Dries Taverniers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albertus Rutgeerts saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dries Taverniers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Albertus Rutgeerts made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Jeffery Van Hoeij fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albertus Rutgeerts having to interfere. Roderik Haeselaers didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute, Dries Taverniers reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Albertus Rutgeerts. The goal made the score 2-0. Jeffery Van Hoeij sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Natan Raeijmaeckers fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Gerbalona's protests and gave Natan Raeijmaeckers a yellow card for diving instead. In the 44th minute, Natan Raeijmaeckers hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dries Taverniers to strike the kick off in the second half. FC Gerbalona's Natan Raeijmaeckers got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Park FC Houthalen's Albertus Rutgeerts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natan Raeijmaeckers in the 55th minute of play. Albertus Rutgeerts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natan Raeijmaeckers, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Albertus Rutgeerts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Natan Raeijmaeckers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Gerbalona's Natan Raeijmaeckers got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Natan Raeijmaeckers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albertus Rutgeerts having to interfere. In the 72nd minute, Sean Heijligen left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Park FC Houthalen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. 75 minutes into the match, FC Gerbalona's goalkeeper Dimitri Vissenaeckens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Evert Van Der Eyde. After a defensive mix-up in Park FC Houthalen's zone, Natan Raeijmaeckers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albertus Rutgeerts came out of the goal and Natan Raeijmaeckers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC Gerbalona made a substitution. Klaus Van Mellart replaced Ignace Verheijden. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for FC Gerbalona! Jeffery Van Hoeij sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Park FC Houthalen's Albertus Rutgeerts played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Willy Cox in the 94th minute of play. In the 96th minute, Jammy De Potter hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Natan Raeijmaeckers managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Gerbalona's supporters rose to their feet, but Natan Raeijmaeckers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albertus Rutgeerts breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
