In the 3rd play minute Jorre Vandamme came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Stein Demeester. 1-0. Lenny Poets was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 8th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Stein Demeester showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Billy Van de Velde, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Stein Demeester showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Billy Van de Velde in the 26th minute of the match. Billy Van de Velde had several of the Schaffen's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 27 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-0 score and a disappointed Stein Demeester as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 32nd minute, Schaffen's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jorre Vandamme fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Billy Van de Velde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stein Demeester having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Billy Van de Velde in the 40th minute of play forced Schaffen's goalkeeper Stein Demeester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Schaffen's zone, Billy Van de Velde stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stein Demeester came out of the goal and Billy Van de Velde tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Stein Demeester made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jorre Vandamme in the 48th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Billy Van de Velde made a kick off. Stein Demeester made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Billy Van de Velde in the 52nd minute of play. VC Vlekkem's Arne De Langhe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorne Van Hoegaerden in the 56th minute of play. In the 57th minute Jorne Van Hoegaerden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arne De Langhe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Billy Van de Velde in the 59th minute of play forced Schaffen's goalkeeper Stein Demeester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jorne Van Hoegaerden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 63 minutes into the match, Schaffen's goal looked a bit too open when Billy Van de Velde came free, but Stein Demeester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Jorre Vandamme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 74 played minutes, VC Vlekkem's Matthieu Van Linthoudt shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Stein Demeester came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in VC Vlekkem reached it. Jorne Van Hoegaerden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91stth minute of the game Jorne Van Hoegaerden who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but VC Vlekkem's Arne De Langhe was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Stein Demeester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Billy Van de Velde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Schaffen's goalkeeper Stein Demeester, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Jorre Vandamme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stein Demeester having to interfere.
