The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Roderik Meijers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 7 minutes into the match, Roderik Meijers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roger De Worteler. S52 Wonder Team's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roderik Meijers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The supporters of Assebroek FC booed when S52 Wonder Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laurens Van De Beeck didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Assebroek FC's Waut Swings broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 16th minute, Luckas Dejardin reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Roger De Worteler. The goal made the score 2-0. Rudi Blomme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guust Verheijd, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. After having played for 23 minutes, Guust Verheijd managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S52 Wonder Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Guust Verheijd was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 25 minutes into the match, Guust Verheijd had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rudi Blomme. Assebroek FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guust Verheijd was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. 31 minutes into the match, S52 Wonder Team's goalkeeper Roger De Worteler had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Roderik Meijers. Assebroek FC were awarded a corner in the 32th minute after S52 Wonder Team's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Waut Swings took the corner. Waut Swings made a great header on Assebroek FC's corner, it was just that S52 Wonder Team's Roger De Worteler managed to reach the ball for a save. 40 minutes into the match, Assebroek FC's Luckas Dejardin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roger De Worteler narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hans Bourgignon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54thth minute of the game Luckas Dejardin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but S52 Wonder Team's Roger De Worteler was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 56th minute Luckas Dejardin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger De Worteler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Roderik Meijers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Assebroek FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Roderik Meijers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Roger De Worteler breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 62nd minute, Luckas Dejardin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 63 played minutes S52 Wonder Team got a freekick which was hit by Laurens Van De Beeck. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alain Van Hoeij during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Alain Van Hoeij hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Gilian De Ruyter charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilian De Ruyter the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, S52 Wonder Team's Gilian De Ruyter got a free kick in the 69th minute. When Roderik Meijers came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Assebroek FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roderik Meijers couldn't finish the play. Rudi Blomme made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Guust Verheijd sent off a good shot on target. Hans Bourgignon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luckas Dejardin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roger De Worteler having to interfere. 87 minutes into the game, Luckas Dejardin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Roger De Worteler was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Roderik Meijers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 96th minute Luckas Dejardin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger De Worteler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Assebroek FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
