Luckas Dejardin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steff Van Boeckost having to interfere. If Luckas Dejardin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bart-Jan Montens charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bart-Jan Montens the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Assebroek FC getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Bernard Maerschalks hit a great ball. In the 47th minute Roderik Meijers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steff Van Boeckost saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Renzo De Maijer was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolaas Slaghmeulders in the 51st minute of play forced Assebroek FC's goalkeeper Rudi Blomme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the match, Roderik Meijers notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of HO Wolvertem-Merchtem's Steff Van Boeckost. Roderik Meijers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Steff Van Boeckost read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play.
