An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathis de Neutere in the 6th minute of play forced Schaffen's goalkeeper Stein Demeester to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the match, Schaffen's goal looked a bit too open when Andre La Rose came free, but Stein Demeester reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute, Robben Van der Perren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Schaffen's Walter Van Den Poel got a free kick in the 44th minute.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mathis de Neutere to make the kick off. Stein Demeester took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robben Van der Perren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Giles Wils fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Schaffen's protests and gave Giles Wils a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Schaffen getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Giles Wils hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute Mathis de Neutere shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stein Demeester saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Andre La Rose had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stein Demeester didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mathis de Neutere went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Mathis de Neutere sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Mathis de Neutere had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Andre La Rose managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Eegem's supporters rose to their feet, but Andre La Rose was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stein Demeester breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 82nd minute, Mathis de Neutere ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stein Demeester was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Mathis de Neutere struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Stein Demeester didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Eegem. Hans Van Dongel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 89th minute, Kenn Weygaerts hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Schaffen's Stein Demeester played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andre La Rose in the 90th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Vercauteren during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. There was no doubt that Club Eegem were the better team. Club Eegem's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
