Ruud Van Gorp scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gill Persoons, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Eernegem's Filip Ingelborgh got a free kick in the 12th minute. Reinard Vrijdags made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henry Van Bever in the 17th minute of play. Gill Persoons made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruud Van Gorp in the 20th minute of play. Kenney Van Aerschodt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Gill Persoons tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th minute, Henry Van Bever reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Reinard Vrijdags. The goal made the score 1-2. Cornelis Dujardin hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Gill Persoons showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kenney Van Aerschodt in the 44th minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, Heiende's goal looked a bit too open when Henry Van Bever came free, but Reinard Vrijdags reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reinard Vrijdags stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Henry Van Bever's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. After the first half Heiende were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Henry Van Bever to make the kick off. When Cornelis Dujardin came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Eernegem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cornelis Dujardin couldn't finish the play. Reinard Vrijdags took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henry Van Bever, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dirk Roeland charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dirk Roeland the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 57 played minutes Heiende got a freekick which was hit by Dirk Roeland. Gill Persoons made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ruud Van Gorp in the 66th minute of play. In the 66th minute, Ruud Van Gorp ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gill Persoons was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. 71 minutes into the match, Kenney Van Aerschodt notched a goal, 2-4, to the right of Eernegem's Gill Persoons. Gill Persoons was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 74 minutes into the game, Kristof Brabant was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Heiende's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Eernegem the free kick. The supporters of Eernegem booed when Heiende was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristof Brabant didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 76th minute, Cornelis Dujardin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Eernegem fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-4. In the 80th minute, Henry Van Bever got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kenney Van Aerschodt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 90th minute of the match Dirk Roeland completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Dirk Roeland a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Heiende getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Dirk Roeland hit a great ball. If Kenney Van Aerschodt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Heiende's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
