Erpent's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Anthoon Gyselinckx was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 17th minute Anthoon Gyselinckx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Schol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joppe Vrankx scored 0-2 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Daniel Schol, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Daniel Roeland's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Daniel Schol was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Brend Mestdagh made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jeremie De Vorster in the 23rd minute of play. Daniel Schol showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Roeland in the 32nd minute of the match. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jeremie De Vorster to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Club Brugge's Anthoon Gyselinckx slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Daniel Schol. That made the score 1-3 after 51 minutes of play. Tom Rymenans hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 56th match minute, FC Club Brugge was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johan Steuckens to maneuver through the defense. Jeremie De Vorster's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brend Mestdagh read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. With an all-out effort, FC Club Brugge's Daniel Schol threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Louis Focquier, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. A collision led to FC Club Brugge getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Maurus Van Hole hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anthoon Gyselinckx in the 71st minute of play forced Erpent's goalkeeper Daniel Schol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of FC Club Brugge booed when Erpent was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeremie De Vorster didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Erpent's Daniel Schol got control of the ball when David Standaers tried to sneak it across the goal line. Anthoon Gyselinckx received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Daniel Schol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brend Mestdagh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hubert Van den Gans, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. 86 minutes into the game, Tom Rymenans was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. One of Erpent:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Club Brugge:s goal. David Standaers placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Roeland in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Daniel Schol saved Erpent from getting behind. Joppe Vrankx recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 93 minutes in the game, Hubert Van den Gans dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. FC Club Brugge played a much better game than Erpent and deserved their victory. The Erpent players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
