Diablo ultras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Club Brugge the free kick. In the 16th minute there was a penalty for FC Club Brugge. David Standaers stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Bert De Raedemaecker. 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fransesco De Hertoghe during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 91st minute, Louis Cempeners hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Diablo ultras booed when FC Club Brugge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johan Steuckens didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Diablo ultras fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Club Brugge were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
