Spectators: 5010 (Terracing: 4010, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 4th match minute, Funky Belgianz was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jannis Van Gele to maneuver through the defense. In the 5th minute, Anthoon Gyselinckx left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Club Brugge fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Frederic Waterloos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Roeland in the 9th minute of play. In the 21st minute Senne Polspoel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brend Mestdagh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Funky Belgianz's Frederic Waterloos got control of the ball when Fransesco De Hertoghe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sean Coenens took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brend Mestdagh. Funky Belgianz's Frederic Waterloos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joppe Vrankx in the 27th minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Stef Van Collenborgh ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brend Mestdagh was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. Brend Mestdagh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jannis Van Gele, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Disappointed in the 2-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Brend Mestdagh made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bobby Parmentier in the 52nd minute. With 58 minutes on the clock, Jeroen Libreghts commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. FC Club Brugge's David Standaers got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Senne Polspoel's late challenge caught a FC Club Brugge's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Senne Polspoel helped the player get up and apologised. Frederic Waterloos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Roeland, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
