David Standaers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gill Persoons having to interfere. After 11 minutes Eernegem's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was David Standaers who took care of the corner kick. 13 minutes into the match, Eernegem's goalkeeper Gill Persoons had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Roeland. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Roeland in the 16th minute of play forced Eernegem's goalkeeper Gill Persoons to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Roeland received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gill Persoons came out and tried to block the shot, but Daniel Roeland slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 17th minute. Gill Persoons made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Daniel Roeland sent off a good shot on target. Ludo Van Den Haecke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brend Mestdagh having to interfere. Brend Mestdagh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henry Van Bever in the 27th minute of the match. David Standaers's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Gill Persoons firmly grabbed it by the left post. Anthoon Gyselinckx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Eernegem's zone, Fransesco De Hertoghe stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gill Persoons came out of the goal and Fransesco De Hertoghe tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brend Mestdagh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cornelis Dujardin, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Ludo Van Den Haecke charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ludo Van Den Haecke the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 37th minute, Ludo Van Den Haecke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Daniel Roeland managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Club Brugge's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Roeland was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gill Persoons breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 41 minutes into the game, Eernegem's Cornelis Dujardin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Eernegem's goalkeeper Gill Persoons, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Roeland was the one to do the kick off. David Standaers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Gill Persoons tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Johan Steuckens managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Club Brugge's supporters rose to their feet, but Johan Steuckens was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gill Persoons breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Eernegem's zone, Anthoon Gyselinckx stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. When Ludo Van Den Haecke was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 64 minutes had been played. A collision led to Eernegem getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Ludo Van Den Haecke hit a great ball. When Filip Ingelborgh came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Eernegem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filip Ingelborgh couldn't finish the play. In the 77th minute, Henry Van Bever hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anthoon Gyselinckx in the 80th minute of play forced Eernegem's goalkeeper Gill Persoons to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Henry Van Bever fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Eernegem's protests and gave Henry Van Bever a yellow card for diving instead. Henry Van Bever hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Filip Ingelborgh managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eernegem's supporters rose to their feet, but Filip Ingelborgh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brend Mestdagh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gill Persoons stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Roeland's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Daniel Roeland put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gill Persoons. After a defensive mix-up in Eernegem's zone, Anthoon Gyselinckx stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gill Persoons came out of the goal and Anthoon Gyselinckx tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC Club Brugge's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
