A collision led to Schoonbroek getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Guilian Winnepenninck hit a great ball. Werner Baekelandt charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Werner Baekelandt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 11th minute, Werner Baekelandt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Simon Lefebre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 14th minute, Jesse Winnepennincx made a precise shot to the right of Diederiek Goens. Schoonbroek's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Octave Dirickx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 23 minutes into the match, Octave Dirickx had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diederiek Goens. Schoonbroek's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Octave Dirickx was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Thomas-Jan Tilemans was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Jannic Jonckheere. Octave Dirickx hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Wim Van de Velde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas-Jan Tilemans having to interfere. Jesse Winnepennincx sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Simon Lefebre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diederiek Goens having to interfere. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Schoonbroek's goalkeeper Diederiek Goens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 36 minutes, Jesse Winnepennincx managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Velde's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jesse Winnepennincx was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Jesse Winnepennincx sped through Schoonbroek's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Diederiek Goens. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Wim Van de Velde stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thomas-Jan Tilemans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Van de Velde, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 58th match minute, Schoonbroek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guilian Winnepenninck to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th match minute, Velde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorne Boumans to maneuver through the defense. Werner Baekelandt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Thomas-Jan Tilemans tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute of the match Jannic Jonckheere shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Thomas-Jan Tilemans showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Simon Lefebre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Octave Dirickx fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Velde's protests and gave Octave Dirickx a yellow card for diving instead. In the 71st minute, Octave Dirickx hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Simon Lefebre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 79 played minutes Velde got a freekick which was hit by Octave Dirickx. Octave Dirickxs short, quick shot in the 84thth minute got Diederiek Goens to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Jesse Winnepennincx managed to get in a good position for a shot. Velde's supporters rose to their feet, but Jesse Winnepennincx was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Diederiek Goens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Werner Baekelandt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas-Jan Tilemans having to interfere. Jorne Boumans's late challenge caught a Schoonbroek's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jorne Boumans helped the player get up and apologised. In the 90th match minute, Velde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorne Boumans to maneuver through the defense. Thomas-Jan Tilemans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Werner Baekelandt in the 93rd minute of play.
