Spectators: 6731 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1731, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Henri-Xavier Van de Schrieck started the match with the kick off. Franky Francx scored 1-0 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Daan Mertens, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jose Van Linthoudt hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Yanne Liebrechts came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by K.F.C NIJLEN's Henri-Xavier Van de Schrieck. But to his dismay, Henri-Xavier Van de Schrieck quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Franky Francx managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Wetteren's supporters rose to their feet, but Franky Francx was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daan Mertens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 22 minutes into the match, AC Wetteren's Franky Francx sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Daan Mertens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Franky Francx managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Wetteren's supporters rose to their feet, but Franky Francx was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daan Mertens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Yanne Liebrechts took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Christofere De Ridder, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jo Servrancx hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Henri-Xavier Van de Schrieck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christofere De Ridder struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Yanne Liebrechts didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for K.F.C NIJLEN. Yanne Liebrechts showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christofere De Ridder, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Ivan Steenbecks kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. AC Wetteren were furious when Pieter-Maarten Van Der Eyde was red carded, 43 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 43rd minute, one of AC Wetteren:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for AC Wetteren. The AC Wetteren players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. K.F.C NIJLEN were winning 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Franky Francx to make the kick off. If Henri-Xavier Van de Schrieck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 1-4 became the score in the 55th minute when Henri-Xavier Van de Schrieck elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Christofere De Ridder sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 60th minute, Franky Francx got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Franky Francx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daan Mertens having to interfere. After 79 minutes AC Wetteren's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ian Dauwe who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Ian Dauwe almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but AC Wetteren's Yanne Liebrechts did a great save. In the 81st minute, Christofere De Ridder ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Yanne Liebrechts was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Franky Francx managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Wetteren's supporters rose to their feet, but Franky Francx was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daan Mertens breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Henri-Xavier Van de Schrieck received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Yanne Liebrechts tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. K.F.C NIJLEN had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
