Sporting Lancer Evo's Sergio De Groot got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wouter Decoster made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Tim Van Hoght sent off a good shot on target. In the 36th minute, Sergio De Groot got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wouter Decoster was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Ray Wortelers. After 42 played minutes Dominick Van Linthoud rounded Sporting Lancer Evo's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. After a rather tough play, Sporting Lancer Evo's Kurt Van Hallebeeck got a free kick in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sergio De Groot was the one to do the kick off. Henri-Patrick Marrant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wouter Decoster showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dominick Van Linthoud in the 54th minute of the match. Sporting Lancer Evo's Wouter Decoster played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dominick Van Linthoud in the 98th minute of play. Sporting CP were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
