Brend Loots didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vincent Van De Velden went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In a very dangerous position, a player in AFC Avennes fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 21st minute. Penalty! In the 23rd minute of the game, KRC Meerbeek got a penalty. After 27 played minutes, AFC Avennes's Bryan Sneijers shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Soren Denturck came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ralf Peeters to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, KRC Meerbeek's Arthur Kersselaers got a free kick in the 54th minute. Brend Loots showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ralf Peeters, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Soren Denturck showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Janes Abrams in the 59th minute of the match. Arthur Kersselaers kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. If Dreas Van Doren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Christiaan Van Bever managed to get in a good position for a shot. AFC Avennes's supporters rose to their feet, but Christiaan Van Bever was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Soren Denturck prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 97 minutes into the match, AFC Avennes's goal looked a bit too open when Vincent Van De Velden came free, but Brend Loots reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Soren Denturck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Janes Abrams, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. AFC Avennes's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
