With an extended leg and a bit of luck Andris Ourogge prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 7 minutes into the game, KFC Begijnendijk's Kieth Simons nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Andris Ourogge made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Kieth Simons struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Andris Ourogge didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KFC Begijnendijk. Gillis Huytterhoeven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 17 minutes, Kris Van der Voert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KFC Begijnendijk's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kris Van der Voert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. RSC Athus's Ricky Gijselinckx got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 25th minute Ricky Gijselinckx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gillis Huytterhoeven saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute, Ricky Gijselinckx ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gillis Huytterhoeven was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Kieth Simons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind RSC Athus's goalkeeper Andris Ourogge, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kieth Simons's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 46thth minute, Andris Ourogge skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Gillis Huytterhoeven took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rajmond Hauwaerts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Andris Ourogge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kieth Simons in the 56th minute of play. In the 61st match minute, RSC Athus was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serge De Maerschalck to maneuver through the defense. Erik-Jan Vrints missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 62 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Andris Ourogge right hand side. A collision led to RSC Athus getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Alexandre Van Dessel hit a great ball. Kieth Simons sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of RSC Athus booed when KFC Begijnendijk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Vercauteren didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes into the match, Kieth Simons notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of RSC Athus's Andris Ourogge. Andris Ourogge was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Richard De Hond sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Andris Ourogge showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kieth Simons in the 81st minute of the match. If Cederik Jonckers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th match minute, KFC Begijnendijk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaspar Verheije to maneuver through the defense. When Ricky Gijselinckx came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the RSC Athus fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ricky Gijselinckx couldn't finish the play. Andris Ourogge made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kris Van der Voert in the 92nd minute of play. KFC Begijnendijk's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
