Peter Jans hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Sebastien Van Aerschodt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel De Baere, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Eric Swinnen's late challenge caught a Fc Steut's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eric Swinnen helped the player get up and apologised. Eric Swinnen hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. In the 8th minute Gabriel De Baere shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastien Van Aerschodt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomm den Pelsmaeker made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arthur Dheedene in the 14th minute. In the 20th match minute, AFC Burgmolen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Peter Jans to maneuver through the defense. Arthur Dheedene recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Arthur Dheedene had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomm den Pelsmaeker. Fc Steut's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arthur Dheedene was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacky Musseeuw in the 35th minute of play forced AFC Burgmolen's goalkeeper Sebastien Van Aerschodt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter Jans blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tomm den Pelsmaeker having to make a save. After having played for 45 minutes, Gabriel De Baere managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fc Steut's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gabriel De Baere was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Gabriel De Baere made the kick off in the second half. Jacky Musseeuw could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Sebastien Van Aerschodt made a huge save. Tomm den Pelsmaeker showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arthur Dheedene in the 55th minute of the match. Kenn De Paepe hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gabriel De Baere in the 64th minute of play forced AFC Burgmolen's goalkeeper Sebastien Van Aerschodt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Karel-Jan Imbreghts during the 66th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Willy Paelinck, 68 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. AFC Burgmolen's Eric Swinnen got his second yellow card of the match in the 75th minute. The referee ordered Eric Swinnen off the ground. After 76 played minutes AFC Burgmolen got a freekick which was hit by Eric Swinnen. Billy Deconynck's late challenge caught a Fc Steut's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Billy Deconynck helped the player get up and apologised. Billy Deconynck kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. In the 95th minute of the match Thibaud Bastiaens sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sebastien Van Aerschodt skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Gabriel De Baere managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fc Steut's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel De Baere was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastien Van Aerschodt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fc Steut's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
