After having played for 19 minutes, Sean Grootjans managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Wondelgem's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sean Grootjans was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 21 minutes into the game, one of FC Wondelgem:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave RSC Izier a penalty, 24 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Stephan Geest, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Wondelgem's Siebe Wilmots. 1-0. After 32 played minutes, RSC Izier's Ryan Bruyninckx shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Siebe Wilmots came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in RSC Izier reached it. 38 minutes into the game, FC Wondelgem's Tommas Caspers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Augustijn Reijckmans made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Dimitri Kints blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Augustijn Reijckmans having to make a save. Dimitri Kints struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Augustijn Reijckmans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Wondelgem. FC Wondelgem's Siebe Wilmots proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save FC Wondelgem from getting a goal against them. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nicolaas Godet was the one to do the kick off. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Augustijn Reijckmans, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, FC Wondelgem's Tommas Caspers got a free kick in the 58th minute. In the 60th minute, Marnix Callaerts ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Siebe Wilmots was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 64 minutes into the match, RSC Izier's goal looked a bit too open when Dimitri Kints came free, but Augustijn Reijckmans reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edwin Van Lueven kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nicolaas Godet in the 68th minute of play forced FC Wondelgem's goalkeeper Siebe Wilmots to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dimitri Kints took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Augustijn Reijckmans. FC Wondelgem's Siebe Wilmots played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolaas Godet in the 73rd minute of play. Augustijn Reijckmans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitri Kints, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. A collision led to FC Wondelgem getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Sean Grootjans hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stephan Geest during the 80th minute. FC Wondelgem were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
