Ief Meeus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jorne Van Gestel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. After 9 minutes, Jeffrey Bal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Verrendries and the SK Heiberg players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jeffrey Bal hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stan Geijselinckx in the 12th minute of play forced Verrendries's goalkeeper Jorne Van Gestel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Verrendries's Achilles Vrijdag got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Verrendries's Reinaud Smoors got a free kick in the 17th minute. 31 minutes into the match, SK Heiberg's goal looked a bit too open when Achilles Vrijdag came free, but Yannik Segers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ief Meeus's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jorne Van Gestel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. Ief Meeus in the 34thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jorne Van Gestel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 35th minute Stan Geijselinckx shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorne Van Gestel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeffrey Bal scored 1-2 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yannik Segers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Achilles Vrijdag came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Verrendries fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Achilles Vrijdag couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Ief Meeus recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jorne Van Gestel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stan Geijselinckx in the 56th minute of play. Matias Stessel might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yannik Segers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Matias Stessel ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 65th match minute, SK Heiberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Didier Kant to maneuver through the defense. Billy Vorster's late challenge caught a SK Heiberg's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Billy Vorster helped the player get up and apologised. After 69 played minutes Verrendries got a freekick which was hit by Billy Vorster. In the 72nd minute, Ief Meeus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 77 minutes, Christopher Declercq mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Verrendries and the SK Heiberg players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Ief Meeus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Stan Geijselinckx might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorne Van Gestel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stan Geijselinckx ran back to his position shaking his head. Stan Geijselinckx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorne Van Gestel having to interfere. 90 minutes into the match, Verrendries's goal looked a bit too open when Ief Meeus came free, but Jorne Van Gestel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Stan Geijselinckx's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorne Van Gestel was relentless in the 96th minute of the game.
