Joery Kerkhove might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jerome Baele. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. UHV United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hemiksem the free kick. After 41 played minutes UHV United got a freekick which was hit by Matias Nelleboedske. Ramon De Maijer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Ramiz Balamir made a huge save. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sammy Van de Gaer made a kick off. Hemiksem were furious when Marco Van Beersel was red carded, 53 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Marco Van Beersel hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Romero in the 55th minute of play forced Hemiksem's goalkeeper Jerome Baele to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. UHV United's Ramiz Balamir played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramon De Maijer in the 97th minute of play. 99 minutes into the match, Hemiksem's goal looked a bit too open when Jan-Joost Smolders came free, but Jerome Baele reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over UHV United could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Hemiksem throughout the match.
