If Matias Stessel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute, Green Arrow's Rik Mertens ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jorne Van Gestel. Jorne Van Gestel yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lucien Schrijns in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jorne Van Gestel saved Verrendries from getting behind. Lucien Schrijns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Verrendries's Jorne Van Gestel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucien Schrijns in the 17th minute of play. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Verrendries's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Herve Huybreghts was slow to take the kick. During this time Green Arrow's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Green Arrow's corner Herve Huybreghts fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jorne Van Gestel quite easily take care of the ball. Matias Stessel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luc Van Hole having to make a save. Lucien Schrijns might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorne Van Gestel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lucien Schrijns ran back to his position shaking his head. A collision led to Green Arrow getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Gwen Van den Hoff hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Matias Stessel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Verrendries's supporters rose to their feet, but Matias Stessel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luc Van Hole breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 34 minutes, Achilles Vrijdag managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Verrendries's supporters crossed their fingers, but Achilles Vrijdag was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Achilles Vrijdag sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th match minute, Verrendries was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Danny Rompen to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes in the game Herve Huybreghts after having made a beautiful turn got a great opportunity to score and fired away a shot that went just to the left past a relieved Jorne Van Gestel. A very good opportunity. After a defensive mix-up in Verrendries's zone, Rik Mertens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorne Van Gestel came out of the goal and Rik Mertens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 47th minute Lucien Schrijns shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorne Van Gestel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lucien Schrijns was the one to do the kick off. Lucien Schrijns might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorne Van Gestel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lucien Schrijns ran back to his position shaking his head. Luc Van Hole made a fantastic save in the 55th minute, when Matias Stessel sent off a good shot on target. Matias Stessel struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Luc Van Hole didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Verrendries. In the 61st match minute, Verrendries was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matias Stessel to maneuver through the defense. Maxim Latomme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorne Van Gestel having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Achilles Vrijdag in the 71st minute of play forced Green Arrow's goalkeeper Luc Van Hole to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matias Stessel got free with Luc Van Hole in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luc Van Hole showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Achilles Vrijdag, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Achilles Vrijdag managed to get in a good position for a shot. Verrendries's supporters rose to their feet, but Achilles Vrijdag was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The long shot by Eric Decremer in the 95th minute really tested Luc Van Hole's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. When Reinaud Smoors fell near the penalty area in the 96th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Verrendries's protests and gave Reinaud Smoors a yellow card for diving instead. In the 96th match minute, Verrendries was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reinaud Smoors to maneuver through the defense. Green Arrow walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
