After 3 played minutes Varinkshoek got a freekick which was hit by Arnaud Wintermans. A hard and well directed shot from Robbie Vanden Broucke led 3 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Varinkshoek's Reinaert Verhasselt became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-1. Peter-Jan Blanchaert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Reinaert Verhasselt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Robbie Vanden Broucke hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Varinkshoek's zone, Robbie Vanden Broucke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinaert Verhasselt came out of the goal and Robbie Vanden Broucke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 16 minutes into the match, Varinkshoek's goal looked a bit too open when Ernest Uytterhoeven came free, but Reinaert Verhasselt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joe Francken could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Harold Rompen made a huge save. In the 19th minute Ernest Uytterhoeven shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reinaert Verhasselt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 22 minutes, Jens Van Meensel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Boubadji United and the Varinkshoek players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Boubadji United's Jens Van Meensel got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Reinaert Verhasselt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Peter-Jan Blanchaert in the 25th minute of the match. After having played for 26 minutes, Ernest Uytterhoeven managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boubadji United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ernest Uytterhoeven was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Boubadji United's Harold Rompen got control of the ball when Jochen Van Gorpt tried to sneak it across the goal line. Robbie Vanden Broucke blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Reinaert Verhasselt having to make a save. Peter-Jan Blanchaert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ernest Uytterhoeven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Reinaert Verhasselt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robbie Vanden Broucke, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Peter-Jan Blanchaert in the 38th minute of play forced Varinkshoek's goalkeeper Reinaert Verhasselt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Varinkshoek defense, Robbie Vanden Broucke kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Reinaert Verhasselt. The Varinkshoek fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Reinaert Verhasselt should have stopped the shot. 45 minutes into the game, Jochen Van Gorpt recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Harold Rompen. Jochen Van Gorpt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ben Laporte was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute Joe Francken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harold Rompen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Boubadji United defense, Jochen Van Gorpt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Harold Rompen. The Boubadji United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Harold Rompen should have stopped the shot. After 60 minutes, Ian Lenoir mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Varinkshoek and the Boubadji United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 60 played minutes Varinkshoek got a freekick which was hit by Ian Lenoir. Arnaud Wintermans hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Ernest Uytterhoeven sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Boubadji United's Harold Rompen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matthy Van de Weijer in the 68th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joe Francken in the 69th minute of play forced Boubadji United's goalkeeper Harold Rompen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Ben Laporte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Joe Francken managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varinkshoek's supporters rose to their feet, but Joe Francken was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Harold Rompen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ben Laporte in the 76th minute of play forced Boubadji United's goalkeeper Harold Rompen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Boubadji United's Harold Rompen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ben Laporte in the 77th minute of play. Ernest Uytterhoeven could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Reinaert Verhasselt made a huge save. In the 84th minute Joe Francken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harold Rompen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 84th match minute, Boubadji United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Izak Anthonis to maneuver through the defense. Ben Laporte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Harold Rompen having to interfere. Joe Francken struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Harold Rompen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varinkshoek. Reinaert Verhasselt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter-Jan Blanchaert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 96 minutes into the match, Joe Francken had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Harold Rompen. Boubadji United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joe Francken was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2.
