Seating: 1815, VIP seats: 160) Vantegem's Ernst Pluijssens started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gourgues FC's Harold De Meyer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernst Pluijssens in the 3rd minute of play. 6 minutes into the game, Kobe Laporte cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Fred De Maerschalckx was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 9th match minute, Gourgues FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kobe Laporte to maneuver through the defense. Harold De Meyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernst Pluijssens in the 10th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sander De Koq in the 12th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Harold De Meyer saved Gourgues FC from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Vantegem's Amaury Vissenakens got a free kick in the 21st minute. After 21 played minutes, Gourgues FC's Kobe Laporte shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fred De Maerschalckx came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gourgues FC reached it. In the 33rd minute, Sander De Koq made a precise shot to the right of Harold De Meyer. Gourgues FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Harold De Meyer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Camiel Huijbrechts, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Kobe Laporte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Fred De Maerschalckx tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thomas-Jan Wuyts stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Harold De Meyer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sander De Koq, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. If Camiel Huijbrechts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gourgues FC's Matias Hendrickx got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Fred De Maerschalckx came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Gourgues FC's Ludwig Van Riel. But to his dismay, Ludwig Van Riel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Sander De Koq could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Harold De Meyer made a huge save. 76 minutes into the game, Claus Paaps was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gourgues FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vantegem the free kick. Claus Paaps kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Fred De Maerschalckx showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thomas-Jan Wuyts in the 79th minute of the match. Vantegem's Sander De Koq suffered a concussion after 81 minutes and had to leave the field. After 81 minutes, Jeff Segers mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gourgues FC and the Vantegem players grew even worse after the yellow card. Vantegem's Ken Gielens was substituted for Sander De Koq. After 83 played minutes Gourgues FC got a freekick which was hit by Jeff Segers. Harold De Meyer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernst Pluijssens in the 84th minute of the match. Matias Hendrickx took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fred De Maerschalckx. Fred De Maerschalckx dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. 95 minutes into the match, Ken Gielens notched a goal, 6-2, to the right of Gourgues FC's Harold De Meyer. Harold De Meyer was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gourgues FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
