Camiel Huijbrechts might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yannis Cerneels. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Camiel Huijbrechts ran back to his position shaking his head. Yannis Cerneels came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Vantegem's Ernst Pluijssens. But to his dismay, Ernst Pluijssens quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Yannis Cerneels didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ernst Pluijssens went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Fred De Maerschalckx made an important save on a dangerous shot by Steven Huijberechts in the 30th minute. Steven Huijberechts scored 1-3 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Fred De Maerschalckx, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vince Verheijd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 39 minutes, Vince Verheijd mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Los Manguis & Company and the Vantegem players grew even worse after the yellow card.
