A throw-in in the 4th minute of the game was made by Christoff De Wortelaers with Sven De Beer as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rene De Mare in the 5th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andries Van Mechelen saved YR Mechelen from getting behind. The supporters of Bovoorde booed when YR Mechelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joery Van Mechelen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ettore Piacente showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andries Mangelschot, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Christoff De Wortelaers in the 24th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by YR Mechelen's Joery Van Mechelen. Bovoorde's Ettore Piacente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andries Mangelschot in the 29th minute of play. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bovoorde's goalkeeper Ettore Piacente, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 41 minutes, Rene De Mare made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. YR Mechelen's Andries Van Mechelen tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Andries Mangelschot took the ball and in the 46 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ettore Piacente. Ettore Piacente dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The Bovoorde players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. YR Mechelen were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Miguel Van Mechelen was the one to do the kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as YR Mechelen's Andries Mangelschot slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ettore Piacente. That made the score 1-3 after 51 minutes of play. In the 56th minute, Andries Mangelschot left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The YR Mechelen fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. In the 61st minute, Joery Van Mechelen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joop Leemans hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. 63 minutes into the match, Bovoorde's Christoff De Wortelaers broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. Miguel Van Mechelen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, YR Mechelen's Miguel Van Mechelen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ettore Piacente narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
