An unexpectedly hard shot by Jamie Haelemans in the 27th minute of play forced Bovoorde's goalkeeper Ettore Piacente to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.'s Georges-Philippe Haemers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rene De Mare in the 28th minute of play. In the 29th minute Sven De Beer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georges-Philippe Haemers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.'s goal looked a bit too open when Rene De Mare came free, but Georges-Philippe Haemers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raf Van den Sande might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Georges-Philippe Haemers. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Raf Van den Sande ran back to his position shaking his head. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rene De Mare to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, İstanbul Başakşehir F.K.'s goal looked a bit too open when Rene De Mare came free, but Georges-Philippe Haemers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Georges-Philippe Haemers came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Bovoorde's Daniel Gendre. But to his dismay, Daniel Gendre quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Georges-Philippe Haemers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 卓奕霖 in the 91st minute of the match. Adam Roekeloos was shown his second yellow card after 91 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Bovoorde booed when İstanbul Başakşehir F.K. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adam Roekeloos didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th minute, Rene De Mare reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Georges-Philippe Haemers. The goal made the score 0-5. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Bovoorde had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
