Gilliam De Deygere made a fantastic save in the 10th minute, when Matthias Van Der Elst sent off a good shot on target. Anthonio Soetemans might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gilliam De Deygere. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anthonio Soetemans ran back to his position shaking his head. Jose De Haes kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Jacques Ombelets fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fredrik Meeuwissen having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Matthias Van Der Elst in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilliam De Deygere saved RSC Loenhout from getting behind. After 22 minutes of play, RSC Loenhout's Guillaume Cesters made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fredrik Meeuwissen was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Julius Denys in the 32nd minute of play forced FC Zandvoorde's goalkeeper Fredrik Meeuwissen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd match minute, FC Zandvoorde was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anthonio Soetemans to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute of the match Willy Maerschalcx sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fredrik Meeuwissen skillfully saved the ball. Matthias Van Der Elsts short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Gilliam De Deygere to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Jacques Ombelets had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half RSC Loenhout were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jacques Ombelets to make the kick off. A collision led to FC Zandvoorde getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Anthonio Soetemans hit a great ball. After 57 minutes, Matthias Van Der Elst made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. RSC Loenhout's Gilliam De Deygere tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 65th play minute Julius Denys came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Fredrik Meeuwissen. 1-3. Abel Borglevens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Gilliam De Deygere tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 72 minutes into the game, FC Zandvoorde's Matthias Van Der Elst nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilliam De Deygere made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. 75 minutes into the match, Matthias Van Der Elst notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of RSC Loenhout's Gilliam De Deygere. Gilliam De Deygere was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Jacques Ombelets took a quick shot and it went in 3-4 without a chance for Fredrik Meeuwissen to make any attempt to save it. Gilliam De Deygere didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Abel Borglevens went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-4 was the resulting score. In the 92nd minute, RSC Loenhout's Jacques Ombelets ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Fredrik Meeuwissen. Fredrik Meeuwissen yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-5. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Julius Denys during the 97th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of FC Zandvoorde booed when RSC Loenhout was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julius Denys didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched RSC Loenhout eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
