In the 7th minute, Marnix Laurent got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Ivan Van Der Veecken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pierre-Paul Serneels stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marnix Laurent's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Marnix Laurent struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. When Marnix Laurent came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the KVWZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marnix Laurent couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Van Der Veecken in the 26th minute of play forced KVWZ's goalkeeper Ferdinand Deswarte to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 32 minutes, Marnix Laurent made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. SC Bierbeek's Pierre-Paul Serneels tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 70th minute, Steven De Marrez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivan Van Der Veecken kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Pierre-Paul Serneels stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marnix Laurent's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. In the 76th match minute, SC Bierbeek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dre Reynaerts to maneuver through the defense. After 79 played minutes SC Bierbeek got a freekick which was hit by Steven De Marrez. When Emmanouil Tsioris fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Bierbeek's protests and gave Emmanouil Tsioris a yellow card for diving instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luk Van Campenhout during the 86th minute. After a defensive mix-up in KVWZ's zone, Philippe-Arnaud Sneijers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marnix Laurent got free with Pierre-Paul Serneels in the 96th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. KVWZ's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
