RSC Anderlecht's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emmanouil Tsioris was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Guust De Wortelaer hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. Serge Van Linthoud stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emmanouil Tsioris's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute, Steven De Marrez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to RSC Anderlecht getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Richard Van De Putts hit a great ball. Serge Van Linthoud stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emmanouil Tsioris's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Steven De Marrez in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Serge Van Linthoud saved RSC Anderlecht from getting behind. If Emmanouil Tsioris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jilian Andriesens in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pierre-Paul Serneels prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 38th minute Emmanouil Tsioris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serge Van Linthoud saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 39th minute, Jilian Andriesens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Emmanouil Tsioris struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Serge Van Linthoud didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Bierbeek. The audience was convinced that Steven De Marrez's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Serge Van Linthoud was relentless in the 45th minute of the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jilian Andriesens was the one to do the kick off. Emmanouil Tsioris recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 50th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Serge Van Linthoud took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emmanouil Tsioris, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 54 minutes into the match, RSC Anderlecht's goalkeeper Serge Van Linthoud had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elias Goemyne. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emmanouil Tsioris in the 56th minute of play forced RSC Anderlecht's goalkeeper Serge Van Linthoud to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Emmanouil Tsioris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Emmanouil Tsioris came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the SC Bierbeek fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emmanouil Tsioris couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emmanouil Tsioris in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Serge Van Linthoud saved RSC Anderlecht from getting behind. SC Bierbeek's Pierre-Paul Serneels played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jilian Andriesens in the 75th minute of play. After having played for 80 minutes, Emmanouil Tsioris managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Bierbeek's supporters crossed their fingers, but Emmanouil Tsioris was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Emmanouil Tsioris recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 86th minute, Emmanouil Tsioris got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Bierbeek's goalkeeper Pierre-Paul Serneels, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Elias Goemyne struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Serge Van Linthoud didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Bierbeek. If Emmanouil Tsioris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. RSC Anderlecht's defense didn't have a chance, in the 92nd minute, when Emmanouil Tsioris scored to the left of an out of position Serge Van Linthoud, making the score, 0-2. SC Bierbeek played a much better game than RSC Anderlecht and deserved their victory. The RSC Anderlecht players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
