Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Martijn Wintermans started the match with the kick off. Willem-Jan Laermans came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Royal Timboektoe city's Martijn Wintermans. But to his dismay, Martijn Wintermans quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Laurens Preuveneer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Royal Timboektoe city's supporters rose to their feet, but Laurens Preuveneer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Willem-Jan Laermans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hendrik Van Herck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Soren Fierens having to interfere. If Sylvan de Pelsmaekers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Royal Timboektoe city's goalkeeper Soren Fierens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 29th minute, Alphonse Degens hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 30th minute, Thibaud Davus hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 37 minutes, Alphonse Degens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FS Gent's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alphonse Degens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When FS Gent's Renzo Dekkers in 38 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Soren Fierens guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Soren Fierens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renzo Dekkers in the 45th minute of the match.

After 54 minutes Royal Timboektoe city's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Philip Symons who took care of the corner kick. In the 60th minute, Hendrik Van Herck made a precise shot to the right of Soren Fierens. Royal Timboektoe city's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Soren Fierens made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renzo Dekkers in the 66th minute of play. The corner led to FS Gent's Sylvan de Pelsmaekers getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Royal Timboektoe city's goalkeeper Soren Fierens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The goalkeeper, Willem-Jan Laermans, was totally fooled by Royal Timboektoe city's Thibaud Davus, who 85 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Soren Fierens stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Renzo Dekkers's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Renzo Dekkers might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Soren Fierens. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Renzo Dekkers ran back to his position shaking his head.
