After a rather tough play, DrughiGenk's Wilhelm Ulbo got a free kick in the 4th minute. After 6 played minutes BocaJuniors got a freekick which was hit by Luc Van Parijs. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jannis Impens in the 7th minute of play forced DrughiGenk's goalkeeper Arne Sterckmans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. DrughiGenk's Arne Sterckmans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luc Van Parijs in the 9th minute of play. DrughiGenk's Arne Sterckmans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Van Clijnebreugel in the 12th minute of play. After 15 minutes, Luc Van Parijs mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BocaJuniors and the DrughiGenk players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of DrughiGenk booed when BocaJuniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luc Van Parijs didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden managed to get in a good position for a shot. DrughiGenk's supporters rose to their feet, but Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bertan Wouqier breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 18th minute Phillipe Van Hoyveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bertan Wouqier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th match minute, DrughiGenk was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vic Gressens to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of DrughiGenk booed when BocaJuniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aime Heijlen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arne Sterckmans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jannis Impens, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. DrughiGenk's Arne Sterckmans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jannis Impens in the 28th minute of play. Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Bertan Wouqier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arne Sterckmans came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by BocaJuniors's Benedict Van Hautvin. But to his dismay, Benedict Van Hautvin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Arne Sterckmans didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jannis Impens went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 43 minutes into the match, BocaJuniors's goal looked a bit too open when Wilian da Mata came free, but Bertan Wouqier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arne Sterckmans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Van Clijnebreugel in the 44th minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Jonas Van Clijnebreugel ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arne Sterckmans was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. After the first half BocaJuniors were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
DrughiGenk's Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden got a good chance for a goal in the 50th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arne Sterckmans took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luc Van Parijs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bertan Wouqier didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. In the 59th minute, BocaJuniors's Jannis Impens dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. Jannis Impens scored 1-5 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arne Sterckmans, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to DrughiGenk getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Wilhelm Ulbo hit a great ball. Richmond Swiggers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, DrughiGenk's Arne Sterckmans got control of the ball when Jonas Van Clijnebreugel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arne Sterckmans made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Richmond Swiggers sent off a good shot on target. Bertan Wouqier showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. DrughiGenk's Arne Sterckmans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonas Van Clijnebreugel in the 72nd minute of play. DrughiGenk's Arne Sterckmans proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save DrughiGenk from getting a goal against them. Jannis Impens could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Arne Sterckmans made a huge save. Bertan Wouqier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erik-Jan Van Hoegaerden kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. BocaJuniors played a much better game than DrughiGenk and deserved their victory. The DrughiGenk players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
