Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Jilian Andriesens started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the match, RSC Anderlecht's goal looked a bit too open when Marnix Laurent came free, but Serge Van Linthoud reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mike Wijnants hit a great ball. Luk Van Campenhout scored 1-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Serge Van Linthoud, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Serge Van Linthoud came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by KVWZ's Marnix Laurent. But to his dismay, Marnix Laurent quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The supporters of KVWZ booed when RSC Anderlecht was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Van De Putts didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Thomas Isemborgh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. RSC Anderlecht were furious when Arthur-Maurits Severens was red carded, 26 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 27 played minutes RSC Anderlecht got a freekick which was hit by Arthur-Maurits Severens. Roni Van der Goten's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Serge Van Linthoud read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 28th minute of play. Serge Van Linthoud took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marnix Laurent, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 35 minutes into the game, KVWZ's Luk Van Campenhout nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Serge Van Linthoud made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Geraerts in the 38th minute of play forced RSC Anderlecht's goalkeeper Serge Van Linthoud to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The wind increased when Marnix Laurent made the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, RSC Anderlecht's Serge Van Linthoud got control of the ball when Thomas Isemborgh tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Thomas Isemborgh kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Serge Van Linthoud. That made the score 1-4 in the 53 minute of play. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind KVWZ's goalkeeper Ferdinand Deswarte, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Marnix Laurent took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Serge Van Linthoud to make any attempt to save it. In the 67th minute Marnix Laurent shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serge Van Linthoud saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 69th minute, KVWZ's Marnix Laurent ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Serge Van Linthoud. Serge Van Linthoud yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-6. Tomas Geraerts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Serge Van Linthoud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Serge Van Linthoud showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Geraerts in the 76th minute of the match. Richard Van De Putts blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ferdinand Deswarte having to make a save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marnix Laurent got free with Serge Van Linthoud in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Serge Van Linthoud showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luk Van Campenhout in the 89th minute of the match. RSC Anderlecht's Serge Van Linthoud proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save RSC Anderlecht from getting a goal against them. 92 minutes into the game, Mike Wijnants cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-8. Serge Van Linthoud was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match was over KVWZ could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than RSC Anderlecht throughout the match.
